Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine that have been used more than three thousand years ago. Clinical trials and modern research demonstrated the therapeutic effects acupuncture has  on the nervous, endocrine, immune, cardiovascular and digestive  system.  By stimulating the body’s various systems, acupuncture  can relieve pain, improve sleep and digestive function.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on an ancient philosophy  that the universe and the body are two opposing forces “yin and  yang”.  When these two forces are balance, energy called “qi” can  flow smoothly along the meridians throughout the body.   However, when there is imbalance between yin and yang, flow of qi will be obstructed and this disruption can lead to pain, dysfunction or illness.  Acupuncture stimulates specific sites of the body to promote qi movement, stimulate function and evoke body’s natural healing response.
Dr. Cheung has completed her education at Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Diploma in Acupuncture and is a registered acupuncturist in Ontario.  Her goal is to further enhance her knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture to help improve the health and overall well-being of her patients.
